Hello! Just bought my nokia n8,great phone but I have 1 problem,it doesn't play video. If I try to open it I get message '' Unable to open file ''. Please help.

What file format is the video.  I know the N8 is supposed to play most types, but there are a few that it can't play.  I can't remember which ones it can and can't right now.  Perhaps someone else can chime in with that info.

The codecs printed by Nokia are

• H.264 (base profile, main profile, high profile), MPEG-4, VC-1, Sorenson Spark, Real video 10
• Streaming: H.264, Flash Lite 4 (Flash 10 compatibility for video), On2 VP6, Sorenson Spark

However I haven't had a problem playing anything , as long as the file is smaller than 2 Gig !

it is mp4 files,and even if i make movies using phone camera it is written  "Unable to open file" too...

Maybe Nokia Care Center could help you

Are your videos stored on an SD card, or the internal 16GB mass storage?

If on an SD card, there may be a problem with the card.

had the same problem but pressing the power buttion for 8-10 sec (soft resetting) did the job for me.
