Have a major major gripe with my N8; upon updating the phone, I tried to access my internet browser and, each time I touch the screen thereafter it just puts me straight back to my homepage.  Upon calling support , they advised me to power it on and off again and try taking out the sim.  Fair to say, it didnt work.  Orange were less helpful in all honesty, saying it was a signal fault.  Not so as my girlfriend has an Orange network phone and it connected and functioned fine.  Has anyone any idea on how to solve this problem or has experienced anything similar to this as I really, REALLY, don't to pack off my phone as all the horror stories I've heard about N8 repairs and lack of replacement phones do not appeal to me in the slightest

Your best option is to bite the bullet and book it in with a Nokia Service centre.

Gotta say tho even when working the browser is meadocre at best !

You could always try reinstalling the firmware or using an alternative browser. I use Opera mobile, The best browser I have used was skyfire but i don't have it my N8, only on my N82. You could try searching to see if it's available for the N8

it's got to be worth a reset and reinstall of the firmware.

if you send it off for repair it's all they'll do anyway.
