I upgraded to Belle last night on my N8. It went smoothly but a lot of my apps disappeared, including Nokia sleeping screen. (which is the one I'm most missing so far)

I re-installed the latest version of sleeping screen from the Nokia Store, but when I go into screensavers to try to activate it, all that happens when I cllick on if, is the loading animation pops up for 1/10 of a second, and then nothing, the seletion tick statys next to the previouos screensaver.  If I long tap it to get the popup window, nothing happens when I select settings, and when I select preview I just get a blank screen.

Is there anything I can do to try and fix this? I'm not completely averse to doing a full factory reset, but for obvious reasons would rather leave that as an option of last resort.  I've already tried the old switching off and on routine... and un-installed re-installed etc.

any help greatly appreciated! :-)

Update: thought I was on to something when I noticed that it was installed on the memory card. I un-installed, removed the memory card and then re-installed Nokia Belle from noika Suite.

Sadly after reinstalling sleeping screen it still isn't working.

However, all the apps that went missing have reappeared, seems to be connected to not having the memory card plugged in when installing.

I updated my N8 to Belle the other day. Then yesterday I installed Sleeping Screen. It's working fine. No problems.

I've run out of things to try now :-( all my other apps are working fine, it's just sleeping screen. which is annoying because I really liked it!!
I wonder if there is a hidden debug mode lurking in the phone somewhere that would produce a log of what the error is...

The only thing I can suggest is to uninstall Sleeping Screen.  Then do a factory reset and then reinstall Sleeping Screen.  I do that for problematic apps.

just thought, after doing a factory reset, do you then do a restore, or does that just restore the problem that the factory reset was intended to remove?

I dl this and when i install via suit at end of instalation it just shows "download error" and thats it cant install it can some1 help me?

When I look closer (in dark) it seems that the Nokia Sleeping screen it is not really black, meaning that the screen is kinda flickering black-dark grey, like the clock is floating on it. I noticers that also on my laptop when I leave it connected on mains supply at night. Please do observe if this happens to your N8, cause I'm afraid that if the screen is not really black (no pixel active, except the clock) that means power consumption.

I gave in and did a factory reset. Sleeping screen is working ok now :-)

FYI,

I have tried the same routines ( remove & reload & reinstall & even that "wait until double vibrations" start ) AND that did not change my prob:
- the app is loaded and shows in list of installed apps when checking from installations menu BUT
- the app is not listed in applications ( and thus cannot be started at all );

IMHO: returning to factory setup is really NOT a solution if you have already reinstalled and fine tuned everything else to your liking! ... just think about it logically: if EVERY ( or even every second ) app needed returning to a factory setup, nothing would really work.

Please DO NOT suggest this is solved - until a better solution is found I give up the app, which worked fine in same N8-00 & Anna.
