N8: Email Client Error: "Unable to connect. Check connection settings"

I really fed up with such an error!

Many times while opening email, without obvious reasons, I got error message saying “Unable to connect. Check connection settings”, which is not true because it opens other mails at the same time. So, please Nokia address this problem. Give us any clues.

 

Do you guys get same error message too?

I'm getting the same error when trying to download attachments. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!

I have had the same problem with you, and found out that I've been using another destination for my main connection. Then I tried copying the same connection into 2 destinations (my own created destination and Internet destination). And it works.

 

Now I need to try it for a couple of days and see it it really solve the issues.

Hi everyone!

 

I still cannot open attachments on my N* on my gmail account. Mails open OK, and I can navigate out to urls without any trouble. But I still cannot open attachments: "Unable to connect. Check connection settings"

n8newuser mentions main connection and "another destination". Could this be explained in  a little detail please?

whenever i am trying to connect to facebook or twitter just after clicking the connect tab it shows unable to connect and at the same time eveery other application works.plz resolve this

hello, got a slight varration of the email problem , i was able to set mine up with my gmail acount, and has been working fine until a few days ago.im no longer getting any new emails come through and when i try to sync new mail the phone display cycles through dim/bright screen while flashing up a error message for a split second that says unable to connect, not subscribed etc, cant really read it ,it goes that quick.the rest of the internet functions ok and is the same in all locations.

just the email inbox feature,i can still go to my gmail account from my phone so is not a gmail problem

 

come on ovi /nokia sort this problem out clearly this is  feature sold with the phone which is a big fail.

I am getting this too... "Unable to connect. Check connection settings". The connection is fine.

Anyone having luck with this.. I sent an email to nokia.. lets see if anyone is listening.

Same problem here _o/

 

Quite annoying. And there's another bug too: a "normal" account to different e-mail address never works after booting the N8. I have to go to settings and force the N8 to close the connection (that actually does not exist).
