I have an N79 and have all the correct settings according to my provider, however when I try to connect to the internet I get a "packet data: packet data connection not available". Does anyone have any clue if there is something else I am missing here. The provider is digicel Bermuda and the available network is EDGE, I believe, not 3G.
The data connection works in other phones using my SIM and my phone has worked on other networks with other SIMs.
Frustrated!

Thanks Jimmyireland for your response! I have the settings from the service provider and I have even had the phone in their customer support peoples hands. The problem lies in the phone itself. I have taken my SIM and put it into another phone and it works, but in the N79 it does not. The N79 worked fine with a USA SIM but not with the Digicel SIM.
I have also tried the "settings Wizard" but still no luck.

Are you trying to access the internet from the mobile itself or trying it from a computer by using the phone as a modem?

I dont think its the phone's problem....Might be some small settings problem some where....If you can first delete all the access point and all internet settings from your phone.....
(Or after taking a backup, try to reset teh phone....)
Then ask them to send the settings to you afresh and then try to connect to the internet.....(this is because I feel that your phone is using some other network provider's settings to access to the internet...that maybe why it fails)
Anyway, let me know is this helps
If this works out, mark me a kudos

Unfortunatly nothing has worked. There is some weird mismatch between the N79 and my providers network.
I have tried the master reset, resending of the settings to the phone and have had the account re-provisioned(?).
With my SIM in another phone the data connection works, just not in the N79. The N79 data connection works fine with a different provider on a different network.
The settings from my provider are really simple and consist of only an APN; no password, user name, port or IP, just an APN.

The Original Service Provider was Digicel Bermuda. The service they offer is EDGE. I took the N79 to their support offices and thier best technicians kept the phone overnight and tried everything but could not get the N79 to work on thier network. They could use my SIM in another phone and connect fine but for some reason the N79 would not.
I walked across the street to M3 Wireless and they were having a big promtion of the new 3G service being offered in Bermuda. We tested the phone and it worked in 3G and 2G. So I signed up. Prices are close and coverage is better.
I've used the phone on four different networks in three different countries and Digicel Bermuda was the only one that did not work.
Thank you all for your support. I am a big fan of this forum!!!!!!
