Hello guys!
I'm from Italy, and my N78 is also affected of this TERRIBLE date issues.
My firmware version is 20.149.051.1 .
Description of the problem is the same of other people wrote here:
- When alarm is set in workdays, in the night between friday-saturday, and between saturday-sunday
the day doesn't change to the next day, but still remains 1 day back.
- When alarm is set in workdays, if you say "YES" to turn on the phone, after the clock sound,
the date will jump over 1 week in the future; this happens a few minutes the phone start.
- Sometimes, the alarm doesn't start; this happens even the alarm is in set in a single day or even it's set in workdays.
I tried to hard reset device; i set date-time autoupdate on and off; i set a theme stored in device memory and in external memory, but nothing of these tricks works!!
I think it's a terrible bug, and i hope i'll be fixed as soon as possible. Alarm clock is a very basilar function and
it's incredible that Nokia doesn't write a patch or a firmware update.

It's hardware problem.Instead of wasting time writing post here go to Nokia Customer Care.Go before ur warranty runs out. They'll surely fix this.
Best of Luck. ![]()

Hello swap002, are you sure that's an hardware problem??
I found in an italian nokia forum that me and many other people have the same problem, and everybody think that it's only a software problem, because usually nokia problems are only software/firmware problems.
If it was an hardware problem, I think that other people had already shared this news. ![]()

I have this problem too where ther date jumps back one day, usually on the weekend. I have brought my phone to a nokia care center and they claim that it is not a known problem. They reloaded the firmware under guarantee and claimed the problem fixed however lo and behold ten days later the problem reappears...
Anyone know if nokia is working on a solution to this problem, as I don't have time to keep going back to the care center and not have the problem resolved.
This is a serious problem NOKIA!!!!

Nokia has confirmed to me that this is a known issue in the firmware dedicated to the european market. They say that there could be a new firware release to resolve this problem in the near future. In the mean time they suggest not switching off the phone at night and not putting it in offline mode.
hope this is useful to others with the same problem

**correction**, they say not to switch the phone off at night but rather put it in offline mode.
here is a copy of the mail in Italian
Gentile Signor xxxx,

Well 10 months from the first complaint in this thread.... and still Nokia is taking it's time.
I think this is quite a serious defect especially since it affects many models and Nokia, and Nokia seems like it couldn't care less as 10 months is more than enough time to sort out an issue like this. The nokia care centers say they know nothing about the issue and waste your time reloading the firmware which has no effect, and nokia doesn't reply to mails sent about the issue (at least my friends who bought the same phone have still to get a reply about the issue). They just playing ignorant...
Next phone I will be looking elsewhere...

FONTE : forum.telefonino.net
The remedy is this:
Set the alarm;
Turn off your phone ,
When the alarm sounds, stop the alarm and, when asked offered immediately after turning on the phone, answer NO;
Immediately afterwards you can switch the phone manually, without change more time.
It is the only remedy actually works.
