N76 Date does not advance if phone is switched off

If I switch off my N76 on a Friday and leave it off till Sunday the date remains as Friday. The time is still correct. I then have to reset the date manually.

I have a repeating alarm set for Weekdays (Monday to Friday).

I am running the latest available software - i.e.

v30.0.015
26-08-07
RM-135
Nokia N76 (70.01)

Any suggestions?

That's a very strange one!

I'd assumed the time and date both ran off the same secondary battery backed system.

I guess it could potentially be a software issue meaning it might be fixed via a factory reset or a firmware upgrade (remember to back up first!). If neither of those work, I'd take it to a service centre - preferably on the Monday so you can show them the problem.

Re: N76 Date does not advance if phone is switched off

Repeated the test over the weekend after cancelling the repeating alarm set for workdays. When I switched on the phone on Sunday the date was still correct - i.e. the date showed Sunday and not Friday when the phone was switched off.

It therefore seems that the alarm software may be causing the problem.
