Basically, the only way to remove it is to have generic Nokia software flashed on the phone. Take a look through the forums, there's plenty of info on this topic.

ok am a bit dim here but how do i flash with generic firmware? People in other threads are discussing "kits" costing £300 is that true?

Anyone give me a link to a thread to help me at all?

Go to a local Nokia service centre and ask them nicely

You'll want to avoid places like the Carphonewarehouse though, as they'll usually just ignore you and flash it with updated Orange software, which still has said bar on it.

ok where would be the best place-i am based in London for work or Luton at home. Do you mean a Nokia store or an Orange store?
