Music Player crashes on Refresh

Hi All,

I put some new podcasts onto my Nokia N95 8GB device via "Nokia PC Suite". I then went into Music Player > select Podcasts > Options > Refresh.

The device hangs and the then Music Player crashes with two consecutive error messages:
1) Application closed. Music Player ViewSrv11
2) Application closed. MMFControllerProxySer ver-167 ViewSrv11

I have the following firmware: 20.0.016

When I go back into Music, I find that it hasn't updated.

Any advice would be most helpful.

Rob

Re: Music Player crashes on Refresh

I am having the same problem with my N95 8GB. I have 796 songs then tried to put another 300 on, when i click refresh it just sits there with a partially blank screen. No moving bar to show the refresh progress. Maybe the 8Gb isn't designed to have a lot of music on it. I don't get any error messages though.

Re: Music Player crashes on Refresh

You could try this... this message i will paste here has come from another thread and it has solved my problem. Maybe it will help you. Make sure before you do this you go into control panel and folder options to "Show" hidden folders and files.

Thank you for contacting Nokia Care.

In response to your email, please follow the steps below to resolve the issue:

1. Connect your Nokia N95 8GB to your PC with the USB cable. Select "Data transfer" mode when prompted.
2. Delete 2 files in "E:\private\101FFC31" (they should called "mpxv1.mpd" and "pcv5.mpd":smileywink: 3. Delete 1 file in "E:\private\101ffca9" (it should be called "harvesterdb.dat":smileywink: 4. Open your Music Player and select Playlist, the refresh should be made automatically.

Prior to following these steps, please backup any personal content or data that you would like to save by using the Nokia PC Suite application which allows you to backup (Backup), copy your contacts, calendar entries and notes (Synchronise) and transfer non-copyright protected data such as images and music files (File Manager) to your computer. If you do not have this application available, it can be downloaded from the link below:
