It also apparantly is compatible with the Nokia N95.

The N80 will NOT support a 6GB microSD card - even with a microSD-to-miniSD adapter - as the N80 only supports SD not the extended standard that allows card sizes to go beyond 4GB.

In any case, to all those unsure as to whether it will work in an N95. I can confirm it does work perfectly, although you do need the latest firmware version!

I didnt get it off ebay I got if off Mobymemory for £37.
However N95 will support 16GB/32GB cards to coz N95 supports MicroSDHC compliant.

It most certainly does, especially as most card readers currently don't support SDHC so SanDisk kindly package one in with the card!

my 4gb card is noticably slower on startup time and absolutley noticabl eon nokia maps so i wouldnt like to think how slow an 8gb or bigger might be (N95)

So, is it in case that when the higher cards available like 16 GB/32GB the phones like N73 or N95 will get eventually slower and slower?

I find this idea kinda strange: a seek time is a seek time and a throughput rate is a throughput rate so given that the bigger capacity cards don't have higher seek times or lower throughput rates than smaller capacity cards, regular functions should not be any slower regardless of the size of the card.

In the hard drive world, bigger capacity disks tend to actually be faster than smaller ones.

Of course, what definitely will be affected is any feature that needs to scan the whole of memory - eg: when opening the Gallery or refreshing the track list in Music Player. Obviously, with more files to look through, this is going to take longer.

Yes, the last para makes sense. But what about the PMP devices?
They seem to carry large files and the navigation is extremely fast?
I mean when it comes about bigger cards, a direct/indirect memory competition is created between convergent phones and PMPs.

i need to clarify something recently i saw some 4gb cards and they were different
one was a transflash sandisk sdhc card the other just a sandisk transflash card both 4gb
is there a major difference? like speeds of data being read or anything different about them?

i have never tried a 1 gb card as i started with 2gb if i zoomed in to earth on the maps program it was a lot quicker that it is now i have the 4GB card. it is a SDHC card. i heard from someone on this forum (i cant remember where) that he bought a 6 GB card and he was having trouble loading some of his files. I dont know how sdhc memory works but im guessing the bigger the card the slower the phone can access the information

no slow donw wat so ever using 6GB
im using 6GB no slow down in phone i can search for music by typing letter widout it freezing like N73 n others wer da letters will freeze n stuff
