Memory full

Hello,

I have a Nokia N73 with a memory card of 2GB.

When i scan the phone memory, it says 16 MB memory in use and 29MB free memory.

Although, when I go to contacts and choose tab Windows Live contacts, it says: memory full. (?)

Is this normal and what should I do the solve this?

Best regards,
Niels

Re: Memory full

Yes I have the latest firmware. Your option of removing the memory card and hard reset I could try.

Re: Memory full

*#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default
*#7370# - Reformat your phone

re-flash - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen.

you have used these codes and none of them works? hmm that would be highly unlikely unless your phone is totally 'dead' and i know it's not the case since you say that you have a memory issue.

just like with everything make sure you do back up.

the first code should not cost you any data loss just a restore to factory default. try all these and let us know

Those two are not the same? I only tried the last one (re-flash).

no there are three different things you can do
1.*#7780# - Restore factory settings - resets all the settings to the default

2. *#7370# - Reformat your phone

3. flash - hold the following buttons *, 3 (number button) and talk/green key. turn on the phone and do not release those buttons until you see the Nokia boot up screen. For this option your phone has to be off first and at boot up you have to power up your phone holding all three buttons.

they all have different functions they serve, also if you have backed up your phone memory card and such, you just might want to reformat your memory card, tho i am not sure that this is the reason for your low memory, it has to do with files on the phone most likely

Re: Memory full

But after a format, for example, I have to replace a back-up. And I think that in de back-up, there are files which make the memory-problem.

Re: Memory full

first clean off your phone with a restore or flash, without a memory card, see if this works, then worry about your memory card and apps that might be corrupted or something else on it.
