It is definitely a compatibility issue or a SW Updater bug.

Again for all three N97s I tried it the C: App installs but when you exit the SW Updater and then re-enter it still shows there (actually never got installed). All the rest apps just failed to install.

I think it's a SW Update app bug... I've factory settings reset and Software Update doesn't go online to check and always reports "(all applications are up-to-date)". v11, NAM model.

I had the same problem many people here had... I have a N97 NAM, I am from Argentina and I use the phone in Spanish and SW Update gave me no updates.

I tried changing the phone language to english and after restart went again to SW update and I got Ovi Contacts Update only (wich I installed)...

I switched back the language to spanish, restarted, went again to SW Update and i am now installin Ovi Maps 3.1 and Ngage 1.3.

Hope to get the C memmory application in some way cause I really need it.


I also hope this works for you, try switching to another language, restart and go to SW Update again.

Same issue for me. Phone memory installs fine...but everything else fails!

And after successfully installing the Phone Memory upgrade...if I go back to SW Update, it appears again.

I'm from Argentina too, I have an N97 RM-507 (NAM version I think)... did the same thing as you and don't see n-gage nor Ovi Maps 3.1 as updates...

did you updated the firmware revision to v11???

in order to get those updates you have ot have firmware v11.....and be in certain regions of the world. not all regions get the same updates. 

yes and there is this annoying bug of having installed everything and it reappears all over again either right away or the next day that is some craziness if you ask me. i have to reinstall memory patch and maps daily lol so frustrating. ngage and ovi contacts are fine and once installed actually remain installed. so i dont know what the deal with the other two is at least on my unit

What I see is that Software Update software not allways update the updates list from the server...

In your home screen dial *#0000# and make sure your version is v11 and check wich RM you have...

I have exactly the same... Try running the start wizard. Some people say that worked for them... (also make sure to be connected and set default access point to SW Update)

Last update I had was Ovi Contacts 1.20... then, nothing new...

I was having problems as SW update had stopped working after I updated to V11 so tried the factory reset.  Now my homescreen aps only connect through the phone network, meaning that iplayer no longer works....the awful software and firmware issues are just like when I first got my N95.  Nokia should stop beta testing with paying customers....no matter how much better subsequent updates, it's the last Nokia I get

So, you are saying it might be a software Issue, I was thinking to factory reset my phone...

nan4k7, I've read that the localization personalization and vendor can affect the SW update process..
what personalization version do you have?

Went off to the Nokia shop in Regent Street...they reset the lot and all is well now.  They suggested not going near the Boingo app which messes up the connectivity

Ok, there is one difference I found... the language set..., mine is 29.

That should be the difference...

I did... but the language set does not change... and the updates are the same...
I only see Ovi Contacts...

Maps does not appear because I updated this program via the OVI Maps Updater. though my PC...

Have you tried *#7370# ?? (This soft resets your phone)

It's strange that the language does not change...
