Dear all,
Since the new N97 v20 firmware update is out for some product codes, I would really appreciate if those who updated to list the new applications / widgets available on the new firmware. Are they installed on "c:"? Are these new apps/widgets available on Ovi? Also, did they update the previous apps/widgets? If yes, which ones?
Thanks...

Aplications are exactly the same as in ovi store. The differences (not many) are only in default applications set and e: drive install possibility for some of them.
2.0 FW firmware installs Vlingo by default (not very usefull app for me as free version is very limited)
Here you have the list of common applications in fw2.0 and where to install:
- accuweather 883 kB E:
- contacts on ovi 1MB (does someone use it???) C:
- maps voice 2MB C:
- n-gage 2MB C:
- nokia email 2MB C:
- ovi store 17 kB C:
- ovi store client 220 kB C:
- youtube 13kB C:
- ap news 715 C:
and apps not showing up in apps manager (probably included in firmware and unremovable but do not take space on C: or E![]()
- Maps
- podcasting
- JoikuSpot
- Slideshow
- Qik
- Vlingo

Thanks careles, but what about CNN, facebook, Accuweather, World Traveller, & others. I didn't notice any new major app on your list. I heard the new firmware will have new social networking apps/widgets like MySpace & others!
By the way, there is no need for N-Gage app anymore! Sadly, Nokia decided recently to remove the service as a whole... ![]()

- CNN, facebook - none of them are hardcoded in the firmware so these are separate apps. I don't know if you can install them on E: drive, I think it you can but I dont remember where I had them on v12 fw. I do not use any of them. These are not popular in my country so you must ask someone else.
- Accuweather - not hardcoded in the firmware. It's E:-drive-installable-application in 2.0. I'm not 100% sure but you can uninstall it form C: and reinstall it on E: even on v12. This will not be changed on v20
- World Traveller - I do not use it but this app but it is not hardcoded in the firmware. If you can reinstall it from C: to E:. It will be there in v20.

I didn't notice any applications hardcoded in the firmware but these I have listed you. So MySpace and "others" are separate apps for sure. You must try intall them on your current firmware and see on which drive will be placed.
I do not clearly understand your concerns. Are you aftraid if your favourites apps will be installable on v20? No need to worry about it. Every app you mentioned you can download from ovi and install on v20 unless they are not already hardcoded in the v20 firmware. But if you are wondering about the implication what will happen when you have an X application installed on C: and the new firmware will allow/force you to install it on E: or do not install it at all because it's already hardcoded .... these are completely unnecessary concerns.
Be informed you HAVE TO reset your phone to factory defaults after upgrading to the new firmware. In other case the new fw will behave as c..py as the old one. So one way or another YOU WILL LOOSE your manually installed applications after the *#7370# reset and YOU WILL HAVE TO INSTALL THEM AGAIN.
So don't worry. Just remember do the backup before.

Are you serious??? No ngage games any more? What will I do sitting in a train now??!!!

Thanks careles for you elaborative feedback & help.. I really appreciate it. Kudos added..
My concern was that I wanted to benefit the most of the new firmware that may have included updated apps/widgets without the troubles of app conflicts or malfunction that I had when I upgraded from v11 to 12.
Surely, I prefer to have all the apps on "E:" to save space on "C:" as many of us do.
Your help is really appreciate it..
And YES, they no longer support N-gage check this out:
