Is OTG possible with other phones also?

[ Edited ]

It is not mentioned in the manuals, like it is in the N8(available on the net)......but in my 5800 manual there is a possibility to show mass memory in the file manager option(that means will can have three entries listed over there, phone, memory card, and mass media)

so,is it possible with all s60v5 phones? like N8 and C5

just a wild thought! :smileyhappy:

No it's not currently possible on other phones. It will also not be possible to upgrade the firmware on existing models to support OTG as it requires both hardware and software support.

The N8 is the first and only announced model with that feature.

What you have seen on the 5800 is something completely different to OTG.

Re: Is OTG possible with other phones also?

okey, but then if u can explain me what, that means? also i get to notice one more thing that, when copying contacts to other memory the phone asks to select the media(of course there is only one option present ie. the memory card) if connection to other storage media ws nt possible then there ws no need for that option to popup, cause there is only one media connected and it should choose memory card as default. i smwhere read that the C5 also supports the OTG feature

You need to read about OTG to understand the differences to what you are seeing. Once you understand OTG you will realise what you are seeing is nothing at all to do with it. Use google or wikipedia to learn more.

The C5 does not support OTG, the N8 is the only model.
