Hi,

Is there a way for me to preset an IP address for the WiFi connection in the 5800XM? We do not have a DHCP server in the office but we use WPA authentication with pre-assigned IP addresses for each of our devices so I would need to set it manually.

Haven't used 5800, but in all other S60s, chose "advanced settings" from the Options menu when you are editing the access point's settings.

Hi, thanks for replying but I do not find any settings for IP address in Advanced Settings. Searching the web does not turn up anything too.

of course there is an advance setting option available on 5800 wifi setting
but u have to click on the option to bring up the advance setting selection
my phone is charging currently,
i'll check later the exact location for it
or u may try to look for it by urself
it's in the network connection setting section if i'm not mistaken

Hey, thanks a million. Silly little me was looking for it in a completely different place. Nokia could have produced better documentations though.

Go to settings--->Connection--->>>Destinations-->

--->Internet--->Options---> Select your local network

And Go for editing...

After that options-->advanced settings--->>> Here you cans et IP4/ IP6 settings, and also you can crack with this IP to any network, For nokia for every model there is IP settings,...

If you use that you can connect free network with out any charges...
