Hi,
I reported on these on Ovi Store and used there "report issue", but regarding these default things that are annoyingly useless on my device by default I couldn't complain there.
I need to remove Boingo, Qik & JoikuSpot. Every application on N97 has Options>Organize>Delete except these. Now, I noticed these are like shortcuts and not even an application or widget. So, how to remove/uninstall them?
Thanks.

I agree it's very annoying. I can't uninstall them either...
Is the uninstall available in z new firmware?
Guys these apps r taking much of the phone memory for no reason esp if you plan not 2 use them (i)

Me too, and the Boingo & Joikuspot ask for fee to active as the premium account.
I guess the software manufacture has some contract with NOKIA?
Or why can't we decide if to remove it or not?
To force us to use it?

I've no gripe if Nokia choose to put 'evaluation' apps on the phone - but at least let us be able to get rid of them.
We had none of this nonsense with earlier Nokia phones.

Most of these applications will be removable only after you install them (i.e. go through the setup process).
Some shortcuts you see on the screen are for the installation/startup routine and not the actual program.
For those applications that cannot be uninstalled or ones that you run once and then never use again (like Welcom and Set-up), put them into a folder named "Unused" for example.
From the Options Menu you can organize your applications by creating folders and moving applications into them.

I even tried downloading Joikspot Premium fron other site and installing it.
The idea is to install and overwrite the exsisting program and create a removal script, so when I uninstall it, it will remove Joikspot once and for all.
Well, to say the least, I tried installing to F: and uninstall, doesnt work.
Then I tried installing to E: and uninstalling also doesnt work.

Thanks for eltting us know that - saves some wasted time trying to get these things off.
Does anyone know if these apps are still there in the new 11.xx firmware?

'Most of these applications will be removable only after you install them (i.e. go through the setup process).'
Are you for real? Or maybe you are a Boingo agent!
If you launch Boingo - even out of curiosity - it will install a locked access point at the highest priority in Connectivity/Destinations. Having done this quite innocently, the phone then could not connect to any data network - WiFi or Packet. The access point cannot be removed or edited. The only remedies to this are either relegate the access point to the lowest priority or do a hard reset on the phone. As I don't like having my phone hijacked by unwanted software, I chose the hard reset.
This is an error of judgement by Nokia - a lack of respect for their customers' choice of what **bleep** they want to keep on their phones and what **bleep** they want rid of.

I highly agree, what takes the cake is after a reset these apps are still there, but the game apps.... ARE NOT.
Stupid Boingo.

Erm, clever Boingo, stupid Nokia I say ![]()

Thank you for all the informations, you save me a lot of time.
I hate pre-installed, pre-configured, pre-registered app on my phone... or, to be exact, anywhere. A lot of those
app are not even support in my country....

Not an agent of Boingo...not even a customer. My feedback was from my N800 where some of the "bundled" applications were simply installation shortcuts put into the OS. After you installed the application, then it became removable.
Not apparently so with Boingo. I noted the "protected" access point added to my Destinations list.
Good idea to give it least priority.
Or maybe I should just rename my wireless access points at home Boingo?

In my opinion, all add apps can be removed by a hard or a soft reset.Try firstly a soft reset. *#7370# and then 12345.
