Bought garmin Xt. However when Im using sat nav screen keeps, for wat of a better word, hibernating.

This is obviously no good.

How can i set the phone up not to hibernate when using GPS

I'm not sure of your phone, but this may lead you in the right direction.

Available from both the developer's web site http://www.tektronic.ro/productdet.aspx?prodid=6 and the Ovi store it is to keep the screen lights on when connected to a charger - as in when in the car.

Then that should be what you are looking for - I'm thinking of getting it myself.  I hate that the screen stays on for only 60 seconds max.  What is the use of pretty wallpaper under those circumstances?

Hi,

I can't say if the following is working with the N97. It does with other Nokia phones.

You start Garmin XT then go to Tools -> Settings -> Display -> Backlight Override. There you can change your backlight settings.

Also be sure to use the latest version of Garmin XT (at the moment 5.00.50).

Im surprised that the sat nav software or the operating system does not assume that if satnav is being used then it is needed for more than 60 seconds!
