How to add a new keyboard layout and language pack for Nokia 5228?

Hi guys.

I've just bought new Nokia 5228 in Ukraine and would like to add there some extra languages that are not included default. Therefore I'd like to know, if there is any possibility to add the new languages to the cell phone, without deleting the new one. As for now I'm interested in having Ukrainian, English, Russian and Greek languages cause, I'd like to use them simultaneously. Is there any way similar to that one as we have in desktop OSes (language packs)?

Sincerely.

Contact the nearest Nokia Care for this. Anyways it can be only installed by them and they will do so ( may be at some price..) if its available in your area...

One important point to be noted is if you get these additional language packs installed on your phone, any firmware update if you carry out in future will remove them..

I think there's no way you can add a language to your phone..talk to the folks at your nokia care centre, they may or may not do that for you.

Cheers

Maybe there is some special firmware that includes all the available languages and keyboard layouts? If so - it would be marvelous :smileyhappy:

Nope and it's understandable why nokia won't have such updates.

You get updates that reflect your regions and 'customisation' of your phone sofware by your operator (branding).

This question comes up every few months. The short answer is that Nokia does not make it easy for someone to use "foreign" text, whether it is just browsing the web or sending SMS. My UK-purchased iPhone supports Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Hebrew, Russian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese etc out of the box. There is no technical reason why Nokia can't do the same as Symbian is fully Unicode enabled.
