How do i get my N85 to stop asking for which connection i want?

I have set up my N85 so that it checks for new emails at my gmail-account every 5 minutes. But every time it checks for new email it asks me what connection i want; wlan or 3G. Can i get it to automatically connect to the most suitable one? E.G. when im at home and have access to my home wlan network it automatically connects to that and when im somewhere else it connects to the 3G connection? Its unbelievably annoying to have it asking me this everytime!!!!

Re: How do i get my N85 to stop asking for which connection i want?

in settings you have choosen always ask you need to change it to the one which you prefer,in saying that you use both so is it not easier to leave it as it is as if you want to use 3g or wi fi you will still have to go nto settings and select one.

If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

 You have 2 options.

1. Set the default connection for everything.

Have you set a default connection for the network access? Goto tools -> settings -> connection -> Destinations - select internet and then select the priority of the internet connections by highlighting the connection, pressing options, organise, change priority. You set the priority based on which internet connection you want the phone to first try using. I have WLAN set as priority 1, which means the phone will try to connect to my WLAN before the phone network connections.

2. Set the default connections for the email.

Messages -> Options -> Email -> Mailboxes -> Choose email account to change -> Connection Settings, then DO THE FOLLOWING FOR BOTH INCOMING AND OUTGOING EMAIL:-

Go into incoming or outgoing email first(don't forget to change both incoming and outgoing email settings) -> Access Point In Use -> Choose the main connection you wish to use. If you choose a specific connection such as a WLAN or Internet account to send/receive emails, then you will not be asked which connection to use when checking email. If you choose "Default connection", and the default connection is set to a wireless LAN, then you will be asked which to use each time you want to connect to the email account.
