How can I free up some memory (C:phone memory) in 5800 XM??

My phone memory has fallen down to 26.3 Mb.
I know that I have a lot of applications installed. I've tried to install most of them in the card memory but many of them (especially from OVI Apps) used the phone memory ignoring my settings.
I also want to move all my messages from phone to card memory but I don't find a way to do it.
Can anybody help me please?
Thank you

Hi. Go to: messaging->options->settings->other->memory in use-> set memorycard

You can also clear your browser cache. Browser->options-> clear privacy data-> all

Re: How can I free up some memory (C:phone memory) in 5800 XM??

Thanks but...
I've tried that (the 1st one).
It only disappears from my list all the messages that I have in the phone and shows me some old messages that I have in the memory card. Of course it starts saving all the new messages from now on in the memory card but it doesn't move the messages from phone to card.

As for the 2nd, I often clear my cache using the Y-browser but this is something that saves me up about 2 to 4 Mb, depending of, when was the last time I did it before and what pages did I visit in between.

Thanks anyway for your immediate answer.

I get you. It only asks to copy the first time. You could look at this one:

chiempies tips. People says it works, and there should not be a reason not to:

I finally found a way:

Select the phone memory (c:smileyhappy: location were your messages are stored.

Open Messages in pc suite and select all messages from your inbox

Export them to a csv file on your pc

Now change the location to mass storage on your phone

Refresh pc suite and you'll see the messages in your mass storage

Create a new folder in My Folders f.e. Inbox

Select this folder and choose file - import and select the file where you saved your messages from your phone memory.

Now transfer the messages from your my folder inbox to your inbox.

Now change the location to phone memory on your phone

Refresh pc suite and you'll see the messages in your phone memory again.

You can now delete them.....

It's a bit time consuming, but it works!

If you have just some few old messages on the memorycard which you don't really need. - Delete them, backup music and pictures and whatever's on the memcard and format it. Then the phone will remake the message-thing on memcard when changing messagememory, and you get to copy them over.

Thanks a lot, both of your posts sounds that they can work. Tommorow I'll see what I will do. I don't have time now, it's 3:30 am here in Greece. So "goodnight" or whatever...
