When im skipping through tonnes of fles like videos mainly, if i press play then realise which video it is then press stop and go to another one after about 20 times of doing this continuously the phone wont read any more media files but will perform fine...

so then i reboot it..do you think this is just a few problem (im still on my first fw) or is this normal practice with the hdd in the N91?

should i upgrade my fw?

No you should only upgrade if you you are having problems with phones not cos you want shiny new firmware. Besides, Nokia only do FW free if it is to fix a problem. All this upgrading FW for the sake of it is stupid and pointless. It may make your phone worse. If it works don't mess with it.

I can't see that Nokia would do FW updates just for the sake of it regardless of where they are in the world.

No it is free in the UK as long as it is to fix a problem. Out of warranty or just to get the newest FW will cost you around 30 notes.

and isnt upgrading ur fw just as easy as putting it into comp which will upgrade it?

They have software that deletes the old FW then reinstalls the new stuff as far as I know. Takes about an hour or so. Depends how busy they are.

As for charges, I have heard of people paying 10 pounds on the low for FW but generally I expect it's Nokia who states the price.

I wasn't following all your threads, so I may be asking a stupid question here. Did you try downloading the firmware and updating it yourself? I saw it listed at Nokia Phone Software Update. (Hmmm. N80 is still not available...)

I'm already at the latest firmware for N80, so wouldn't have the chance to find that out anytime soon. (Hey! The updater now includes N80! Finally!)
