HD voice

I heard the N8 was HD voice enabled but all my calls had been standard. Then I had a call with my cousin and it was so weird it sounded like another planet. It took me about a minute to realise it was HD voice. I could hear every aspect of her voice; the treble and the bass. Then I stopped and thought about it and realised how awesomely clear and understandable it made the call. It's now hard to believe that we have waited this long for something so amazingly simple. However, I have not had such a call with anyone else since. What are the factors that have to come together to make HD voice happen coz it sure ain't a setting I can find.... Any ideas?

Re: HD voice

Think HD voice is operator defined not by the handset, from memory, in the UK, Orange were experimenting/rolling out HD in the South of England, but it's not something you can turn on or off, it;s just dependent on where you are ! Similar to 4g in the States ?

From what i know to have HD Voice you need a compatible handset (N8 for example), you and the one you're calling and also the operator to provide this service.

Nokia 8890
Nokia N73
Nokia N8 Dark Grey
