Freeze in Menu handsets

I'm not going to say i've found a solution to this problem as thats completely incorrect

What I can say is that I have verified that certain handsets that I have worked with that froze in the menu

(That is to say, when menu key is pressed screen freezes, no icons appear, partial icon appearance)

I have seen that in certain cases, the problem was in fact the sim card.

Sounds crazy, I know but upon removing sim and starting handset, handset worked perfectly.

I had handsets come back from repair centres saying No Fault Found.. obviously they were tested without sims inserted !!

Example handsets were a number of E61 and E66 handsets

If you find this fault try remove sim, could just need a sim change. Not a Guaranteed Solver but its saved a lot of time and effort on my part by not sendin handsets away and having no fault found returned.

Let me know if anyone has similar experiences.

Re: Freeze in Menu handsets

hello,

i have the same problem with my E66. After a week of usage without any problems, when clicking certain menuitems (only the menu Installation has this problem) the screen apparently freezes. I can not see the tumbnails of the menu I opened (although I have the feeling the OS updated the links because I can start the applications which are contained in that menu, only are they beneath the tumbnails of the previous menu).

Anyone experienced this anoying bug and found a solution? Removing SIM, battery or memory card didn't work.
