Freaky 5800 screen problem

Please do excuse any noobish ness from me. I have had a look round the forum but havent happened across advice on this one.

I love my little 5800 (I believe a "red one" refers to the band around it?) but it has developed a weird problem. Sometimes when I unlock the screen it comes up bright blue with lines zig zagging across it. The closest I can describe it is like interference or rubbish TV reception. It rarely did it and if I tapped the screen it would stop doing it. It is now getting progressively worse to the point where I cant do anything with my phone including turning it off.

This morning it did it again and my usual fix of taking the battery out didnt work. When I switched it back on all the screens were blue or white or even orangey with these lines zig zagging across.

Any ideas guys? I cant tell you which version of the software I have because my screen is a bit fubard atm :smileywink:

Sounds like a hardware problem! I would suggest taking/sending it to a Nokia Care Centre.

Hope this helps!

Ah ok then. Drat!

I of course eat my words because a few pages away I find someone with what sounds like the same problem!

I had the same problem. I visited Nokia Centre and they replaced my ph screen and now my ph is working fine.
