Formatting memory card on the 5800 xpress music

I have a virus on my memory card which has de-stabilised my phone, has it seems to be frezzing, shutting down and just mis behaving. the problem i have with re formatting the card is that it came with some system files. if i reformat through the phone , will it replace all the system files on the memeory card...

Yes, it will regenerate. However you will lose your maps. and all installations in it of course.

i AM GOING TO BACKUP ALL MY DATA TO THE PC , THEN REINSATLL IT WHEN ITS FORMATTED..  THAT SHOULD DO IT.. ps can i download maps form the ovi shop or Nokia website.

if you back up to Ovi Suite/PC suite, chances are the corruption will be backed up as well.

Ok, then. but can i back up my Music, Images and Video folders and give them a clean sweep b4 i re-install..

I did exactly that, i backed up my data to a pc, did an Av check and it was all ok.. Then i formated the card from my phone, but its still the same . Now its connected to a pc and i see another spyware...

 

'' File F: autorun. inf belongs to spyware w32/confick-D.''

 

 

I have just had a enough of this agrrro. Do you think I should take it to a mobile shop and flash my fone without the card, and then format my card with a clean pc, before i put in to my phone and then fprmat it again... Pls I need your Help..

If you format the phone then the memory card has no virus .

Possible your PC has a virus .

What is drive F with phone connected .

Yes. it could be that your PC has a virus, and everytime you connect your card to it, the virus is activated and transfers to the card. have you made a deep system scan of your PC lately?

The pc's i have used do not have any virus.. The F: drive , was relating to the drive of my memory card..

 

As i type this, the phone is being flashed in a mobile phone store, I hope it sorts it out.. I will format my memory card before i put it into my phone...

The main symptons of the phone, was . frezzing, shutting down on its own, applications not showing ..i.e display malfunction..etc

 

 

I think the virus has corrupted my phone internal memory..???
