Can someone who owns one confirm for certain whether there is an FM transmitter on the N97 mini? There is conflicting information about this on the forums.

Short answer is 100% yes.

That's interesting then because the UK website seems to have conflicting information about the handset. See this page where I was taking my cue: http://www.nokia.co.uk/find-products/all-phones/nokia-n97-mini/specifications Look under radio toward the end of the page and you'll see it's missing. The same page for the N97 "Daddy" has a reference to the transmitter.

There is also a post here from psychomania suggesting it does NOT have one. So there's conflicting info on this forum as well.

This is why I'm hoping someone with the actual handset will come along and confirm.

Also, B909, that's the product page for the 'Daddy' 97, not the mini. And again, the same product page for the mini excludes a reference to the transmitter.

There is no solution to have an FM transmitter if the phone originally doesn't have one. It's a hardware issue.
