I've been using Widsets for quite a while. It asked me to update, then redirected me to the website to download the new app.

It's Java, so it wanted to download the Jad file first, that worked fine, then it asked if I wanted to install, and just said 'disconnected' and stopped installing.

I have this problem with all java application installations from the web, not just Widsets. I've had to download the jad, look in it for the Jar URL and then install the Jar to the phone from my PC.

i dont suppose this would be an issue with the way the jad was compiled for the phone by any chance?

Not a clue. I've had this with every Jad/Jar combination app I've tried to install through the phone's browser. I don't have a problem if I download it to my PC and then install it using PC Suite.

The apps I've tried to install today are Widsets (www.widsets.com) and Google Maps Mobile (www.google.co.uk/gmm/). I can't even download GMM to my PC, since they detection whether it's a phone or a PC browser and only allow the download from the phone.

Maybe you should try updating your phone firmware. It may help.
