I don't know if you (Psychomania) can help me with this problem as this isn't the right part of the forum to post it, but you've done extremely well for me so far. I have already posted this elsewhere in the forum but have had limited response so far. My trusty Nokia 6630 has thrown a bit of a wobbly and won't charge any more. I can charge the battery OK by resting it's contacts against the contacts of my other Nokia, a 6280, and then put it back in the 6630 and it works fine. When I plug the charger in, either the mains one or the car charger, I get the message "Not charging" with a phone icon with a red cross on it. Also the charging bars go back to zero when the charger is plugged in, althought they revert to normal once the charger is removed. This all started a couple of days ago when the phone rang and immediately switched off as the low battery warning had been beeping for about half an hour and the phone ringing must have taken the last bit of power from the battery. I plugged it into the charger but was maybe a bit impatient waiting for it to start up again as it seemed rather sluggish accepting my PIN code, so I switched it off before it had completed doing this and when I switched it on again it had this fault. Any idea what could be causing this and how to cure the problem. Do I need to make a backup and do a hard reset or reinstall the firmware? If so how do I go about doing that? No problem if you have no idea as I hope to replace this phone with the N82 in the next couple of months.
