Re: Disappointed from Nokia N97

Phatdumi...I absolutely agree with you.

Moreover, this forum sits on a site officially hosted by Nokia. If you happen to be a customer disappointed in a product, and the N97 seems to be producing a whole bunch of these, where will you come? If anything is to be done about the N97 there will need to be a critical mass of customer opinion or Nokia will just roll on to the next product. So it is vital, then, that people are able to discuss openly their experience of the product, get support from some of the excellent advisors here, and start to form that critical mass. This site is the natural home for this.

Re: Disappointed from Nokia N97

I am furious!! Brand new N97, two weeks old, and a small crack develops inside the screeen which completely disables touch.  The phone wasn't abused, very gently used, never fell down, not a scratch, and behold!!!  What's up with that???

The display still works, but doesn't respond to touch.  The top part of the screen is perfectly clear and fine and through it, inside you see a very small crack.  How on earth does it crack from the inside???  I hope Nokia will fix this without blaming me for misuse. I've taken very good care of the phone, considering that I spent over $600 on it.  I might have to get my own insurance on this phone now if Nokia ever fixes it.

The 3rd edition and all the mobile phones with this software that was and continues to be the most sucessful s60 software and hardware platform launched up to today by Nokia and for others brands like Samsung. Nobody can deny it.

Re: Disappointed from Nokia N97

The end. New Nokia N97 which to be fair looked better, in that software looked better and small physical change to microphone top of mobile. But suddenly died and now refuses to charge battery. And before anyone says it could be battery or charger it is not as I now have two N97s having

not had time yet to return the first faulty one. So I have been able to test all options it is the phone itself.

In summary two N97s in the space of 6 weeks, first one really unusable s/ware and then physical failure. Second one physical failure - cannot charge battery.

And I see Nokia are moving on to newer models in a very irritating fashion. This pretty well mirrors my N95 experience and I have left Nokia now.

I sort of feel bad but there is loyalty and just being plain disadvantaged. Shame as these phones look right for me and I now am searching for alternatives but nothing from Nokia.

All the best.

Paul

Re: Disappointed from Nokia N97

I think it's a shame so many of you seem to be having problems with the phone. Just to balance things, I've had mine for about six weeks and the phone itself is lovely.

(I could rant for awhile about the software, but that's a different story).
