**DEAD n97**

i picked up my n97 (i have had it for 2days) and pushed a button for the home screen to come up and than an error **system failure**!! the phone was cycling through start up and shut down with the same error. with no  choice i took the battery out/back in but this time things just got worse!! white light than green fuzzy strip to red and than shut down with this system events continuing in a loop. in the end i had to do the major reset for bricked phones but i lost all of my data.. everything.

can anyone tell me what has just happend and is it likely to continue?

the only solution at the moment that i can see is to system back up everytday.

??help??

Re: **DEAD n97**

The green line, turning to red have happened to me once or twice. I lost some information at that time as well.

I don't think that it neccesarily indicates a hardware problem. My phone is working as good as anyones here on the forum (from what I can tell), and I have never sent it in for repairs.

That line is just another variant of software running wild, and crashing the device.

Yes, it can happen again. If it is of any comfort, it don't happen often. I don't think I've ever had it happen since I upgraded to V12. But the software on the N97 is buggy in lots of places. Some bugs are more serious than others. Don't let anyone fool you to think otherwise. The phone is usable, but it's far from a stable state.

The bottom line - no, I don't think your phone is any more broken than any other here. You just need to set up the phone frmo scratch, and pray that it gets to a semi-stable state (that means that the crashes you get don't cause you to atleast loose any data).

Man that is a dissaster for you bro. Luckily you are getting a new one, but it wont be in your hand anytime soon. You will have to wait for another weeks or month.  Hope the N900 behave nicely.

Re: **DEAD n97**

You only have N97 for 2 days? You should bring it back to where u bought the n97, and exchange for a new one instantly.
