Cleaning up my N8 in advance of Belle Update

I would like to perform a hard reset on my N8, returning it to the condition it was in 'out of the box'. I am hoping this will give a nice fast phone on which to install the forthcoming Belle update. I'm not bothered about contacts, calendar, sms, photos or music - they are all backed up.

I do however, have a pile of games from the Summer Gifts promo that are installed, and I want to keep.

How do I backup these games to ensure I can restore or reinstall them after the hard reset?  I have already checked the Nokia Store and it doesn't have them listed on my download history.

Thanks!

@Grazer10

What are your installation preferences set to in Nokia Store, as unless Games have been installed to F:\ memory card they may well be lost despite backing up device with Nokia Suite?

If I've helped in any way, a click upon the white star at bottom right of screen would always be appreciated.

However if my answer also solves your problem clickingbelow it will benefit other users!

Thanks for your post - not sure about the Nokia Store settings - but on the phone they are installed to the internal 'Mass Memory' area.

I can't lose all my games - wah! Guess I might just have to stick with the device as it is.

Re: Cleaning up my N8 in advance of Belle Update

You should be able to download everything again from Nokia Store from 'My Stuff' and may find some apps are no longer compatible with Belle anyway. Personally I would recommend a reset as it will give a clean start to what is effectively a new phone, also only backup your basics, Contacts, Calendar and notes, also suggest you sync messages with Nokia suite, then do the *#7370# reset, I always reset mty phone for a new SW version to avoid conflict with any settings between the new and old SW :smileywink:

Re: Cleaning up my N8 in advance of Belle Update

Thanks - that AAS article is excellent. Well written and plain old common sense.

The problem with 'My Stuff' was I had a number of different sign-in names. Most, but not all, of my apps and games are there - so I'm happier than I was.

I think I will go with hard-resetting the phone when Belle arrives, and start totally from scratch, with a 'like-new' N8 (even though it means losing Monopoly from my summer gifts :-(

Thanks for the suggestions......

Graham

Re: Cleaning up my N8 in advance of Belle Update

You may not lose them anyway, also a small number may not work, on balance, you will definitely be better off, the new OS is awsome, used it at Nokia World and it really is like having a new handset :smileywink:
