Hi Friends,
I own a Nokia 5530 XM with the default phone memory and 4 GB SD card running with latest v31.0.005.c01.01 firmware.
I have a question on how to clean up the unwanted files in both phone memory & SD card as they occupy disk space. I installed couple of browsers and applications and uninstalled them after few days. I don't see the memory size increasing back after the appln was uninstalled. And also when I browse the phone content through PC Suite/ Windows explorer, i do see quite a few files which seems to be useless.
These are my questions:
1) Is there a way to find out which are unwanted files and can be deleted safely to gain more disk space without affecting the working applications?
2) Particulary, Why is the phone memory not increases in size after an application installed in phone memory was uninstalled?
3) If an application was installed in SD memory card, after the application uninstallation how to delete unwanted/residual files in both phone memory and SD card.
Appreciate your help and Thanks in advance.
cheers
-Ravi

Hi phonehacker,
thanks for your response. But my problem is not a stuck application in memory, but just wanted files. The applications were removed successfully, but i guess there are some unwanted files which are not deleted after app uninstallation.
How to figure them out and clean it out?

Okay then.
Connect the phone through USB cable (USB mode: memory card) and have a look at the "sys" folder.
