Can the start-up sound on the 6220 classic be turned off?

I'm wondering if there is any way to turn off the horrible, loud, and very annoying sound that plays on the 6220 classic during the "joining hands" animation that appears when the phone starts up? I've looked EVERYWHERE in all the menus & settings, but there doesn't appear to be an option to change this, unlike on my old 6610. If this can't be done on the phone itself, is there a way to do it via a computer connected to the phone, but without invalidating the warranty? Thanks.

Switch off "warning tones" in the profile that's active when the phone starts.

Can the start-up sound on the 6220 classic be turned off?

Thanks very much. It's so very rare that I have a problem that someone's able to solve so quickly & easily, whether relating to technology, or life in general!

It never occurred to me that the start-up sound would be classified as a "warning" tone. On my old 6610 there were separate settings for warning tones and the start-up tone. Even better news is that the switch-off sound has also been silenced.

All that I'm left wondering is what (apart from the start-up & switch-off tones) actually constitutes a warning tone? I've always left warning tones switched on in the past on every phone I've had, as I figured that if the phone wanted to warn me about something, I should probably know about it!

Re: Can the start-up sound on the 6220 classic be turned off?

The phone will no longer bleep when the following things happen:

* The battery is low and needs charging
* You plug the charger in
* Charge is complete
* You switch to this profile from another
* An error condition occurs (can't connect etc.)

If all areas where the model you have is intended for sale allow the camera to operate silently, then the shutter release will no longer play back when you take a photo.

Thanks for the info. The things you listed I reckon are all useful, and given the choice I'd like the phone to bleep when they happen, but not if I have to endure the start-up sound.

The system used by my old 6610 is clearly superior, given that the start-up sound can be turned off but the warning tones still left on.

Even with warning tones turned off, the 6220 classic still makes sounds when the camera is used, which doesn't surprise me, given that in the UK we live under the shadow of political "correctness" and the nefarious influence of "Common Purpose"

Re: Can the start-up sound on the 6220 classic be turned off?

On my N82 and N70 this animation is skipped when I press any key. I press it just when animation shows - before any sound is played. Is it the same on 6220 classic?

Yes it's the same. The problem though, is that if you press a key too early (i.e. before the animation starts) then the animation isn't skipped. If you press a key too late, then the animation has already started, along with the hideous & loud start-up tune. I've decided to keep warning tones switched off, and just put up with the fact that I've had to sacrifice all the actual (and very useful) warning tones in order not to have to hear that God-awful noise every time I switch my phone on (which is typically twice a day).
