The reason for the post was simply that I'd read a couple of posts from people who didn't have backups and so no way to solve their problem. Nothing's foolproof, I sync with Ovi.com and had a problem updating my calender and notes the other day (after a reset), because it was down for maintainance ! Sorted now, but I sync my phone most days and do a backup every month or so, I know people who have never backed up there phone, and basically, if they have a problem or lose it , they're screwed, so just a bit of sensible advice really !

Good advice! I back up once in a while too, to make sure I keep my contacts and messages. I have found it necessary due to the moody n97.

Still can't believe the number of people who have 'lost' there contacts and info, because of repairs or resets, JUST DO IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, I backup my phone once a week on Ovi Suite, but I had set up my phone to backup to memory card everyday at 1am (as I sleep). So yeah, I have a backup for everyday. ^_^

Just bumping this post as read a couple of posts (as usual, from people losing data from there phones, due to resets/repairs etc. Please backup your handset folks, it's not Rocket Science !!

I may be being a bit thick but what's the difference between a backup and a sync. Sync seems to copy all of my contacts, messages and photos to the computer so what does a backup do that a sync doesn't?
