Autonomous Calls

Couldn't find the right place to post this. It's more of a general telephone networks question (I think!).

Someone received a call from me that I didn't make. This has happened before by other people I know but I had always believed that they had made a mistake or the number dialled the last number in their pocket or something.

Two nights ago my friend received a call from me. I know it wasn't me since my phone was at home at the time and I was out.

They were adamant I called them, so I checked my phone log in case it did it by itself (the girl it called is fairly cute so I don't blame the phone for trying in my absence). Nothing in the call log. Hmm. Checked my phone bill. Ditto. Nada there. But the call was definitely received and was definitely from my number. What causes these GSM anomalies. This is not the first time I've heard of this happening *but* it is the first time it's happened to me! It always happens to people that know each other rather than just random calls.

Weird!

Maybe cupid is trying to give you a hint? :smileywink:

I've never heard of this before but I would love to see it happen!

Edit: Are you on t-mobile by any chance?

Re: Autonomous Calls

I've not heard about this before neither.

Are you and the other party on the same network?

Have you contacted the network operator?

Jusi out of interest, why should the OP being on T-Mobile make a difference? Is there anything I should know about, because I am with them?!?

Years ago my dad had a sony ericsson on t-mobile that used to send blank texts to people he had texted in the past. He replaced the phone with a nokia and it still did it.

He contacted t-mobile and it was identified as a network problem and they resolved it.

Re: Autonomous Calls

I still have no idea why it happens though!

Give t-mobile a call, hopefully you will get to speak to someone with half a brain who may understand the issue.
