i purchased nokia 5800XM 2months back .. i updated it from v40 to FW  v50 ...

it was working fine ...but just 2 days back my battery became hot .. i was not calling or dong anything ...

then i went to nokia care .. they told me that it has virus which makes the battery hot !!

is it possible ??

then they said that there are issues with downloading it directly from internet ...

then they formatted and updated my mobile to v 50 ... but now there was many things changed ...there is no animation when i press the middle button to menu... it opens directly !!

moreover for dialing also no animation and for phone book entry also .. then i said this to nokia care but they said the animation is not there in v50...

plzzz help me out .. i liked that animation so much ...

is it because they might have deleted system files from my mobile !!! plzzz help !!

go to > menu>settings>personal>themes>general

then select options>theme effects>on

there is one more problem i have

my GPS in maps is not showing my position .... earlier there was a red dot which use to **bleep** but not there is nothing ..

never mind. sorry mate i don't have any experiences about GPS system. but would like to give you some advices. you must go outside to use GPS. satellites will not detect indoor device. make sure that your not covered GPS receiver. see the attachment. it shows GPS internal area of the phone.

Since you have reset your phone, the GPS is back to clean state, meaning you would need to wait for it to fix. While there is no red dot, there would be text there signifying that the system is still searching for your position. You will just have to wait it out. It could take up to an hour for a newly cleaned phone, especially if you have not yet recovered your mobile access points for A-GPS and network positioning use.

i have 1 more thing to ask ...

so in inbox i have todays 21/7 and messages ...

i sorted it by sender ...

now its showing by name ..

So the prob is when i go back and again enters inbox its changed into sort by date !!

is there ny way that it will always b sort by sender!!!!

can't mate.. now i've tried it. it changes when we go back. and i don't think it can change.

You can set it to show messages in groups permanently in settings, but not by sender.

but there is option of sorting in messages .. it becomes sort by sender .. dn if u leave inbox and again enter it .... it defaults back to sort by date !!

my nokia 5800XM battery backup is of a day appox !!

is it fine ??

on the other hand other sets give more then 2 and half hour battery backup !!

battery drains fast according to your usage. more you use battery drains fast.

The inside inbox sort is temporary and not permanent as you already observed.

How long the battery lasts depends entirely on how much and for what features you use the phone. A perfectly running phone and battery would only last 3-4 hours if you play a video on max loudspeakers continuously (like a movie).

i am now facing one more problem ...

my phone contacts are mixing with each other ... the origional one is there and rest all are mixing ..

some contacts have more dn 4 contacts .. they just mixed .. !! is there any virus again ..

juss few days back i got 50 v from nokia care ...

and now this prob ... what should i do ??

Just hard reset your phone, format the memory card and rebuild from scratch. It seems you have a lot of corrupted files.
