Please Nokia, save yourself from the enslaught of the iPhone and release your feature packed N97 as soon as possible!

I, along with many of my friends are coming to the end of their current contracts and want a new phone. The N97 is our dream phone, but we can't wait for ever!

We need the N97 now.

We have been waiting for months now, since 2008 when the N97 was first announced.

Please release it. Get it in stores. Get it online. Get it out and in to as many hands as possible.

This is the phone to recapture your falling market share. It will blow the iPhone and all RIM devices out of the water.

Come on Nokia.

Don't let your loyal fans down..

Just because the contract on your phone is about to run out does not mean you have to get another phone. My contract ran out in December 2006 and i am still using the same phone. You know the old saying "if it isn't broke don't fix it". I am happy with my phone and am happy to wait until the phone I want is released. But I am not prepared to get another device until Nokia sorts out it's quality control problems and also gets it's software issues sorted out. I am not holding my breath on that one. My existing phone works faultlessly so why change it for a new phone that is full of issues. Just because your contract is about to expire does not mean that you have to upgrade. Also with the current world financial crisis manufacturers might be forced to reduce prices to maintain both sales and market share. I am quite happy to wait and see what happens.

When my contract expired I switched to a sim only contract.  More benefits for less cash.

The N97 is due in towards the end of May or June, Nokia will not push forward it's release just because people ask them to on a forum.

Release date in the UK for the N97 is 23rd June according to sites like Play.Com and Expansys.

I've been able to upgrade since last October, but also am holding out for the N97. However, I'm happy to continue using my N95 so that Nokia can make sure the N97 is as bug free as possbile when it's released.

This isn't a thread for people who don't want to update their phones, or have gone sim only... This is for those of us who love new tech, the early adopters who are the life blood of the industry!

Please do not reply again if you're just going to moan on about how great your 1990's mobile is. You just don't get it, and probably never will.

If Engadget is correct and Nokia release the N97 NAM on the 2nd of June before they do here in the UK then I will be ending my long standing Nokia purchasing line.  I will go with another company, it's totally not on that the UK is lagging behind even the US!!!!!! **bleep** NOKIA!! Get your core markets in order first!

I suspect that Nokia is lining it up to compete with the Palm Pre in the US. Given the low success rate of QWERTY phones in Europe I suspect they aren't too concerned about competing with it over here. However Mobile-Review has already published its review, so I suspect our own European are much closer to the market than we think. That or Nokia's just shipping NAM units everywhere - they are universal, even on HSDPA, I think.
