5800XM with Wifi only

I have a Nokia 5800XM and added an unlimited internet access package a while ago, since then I have noticed that I only access the internet when I am within range of a WiFi point, so I have cancelled the internet access package.

How do I ensure that I don't stray onto a non-WiFi access point? I assume it is by removing one or more 'destinations'? I'm not sure what the name of non-WiFi internet access is? GSM Access?

Thanks

Re: 5800XM with Wifi only

You can remove the other destinations, but you probably don't want to in case you have an immediate need at some time to get access when there is no wi-fi available. Better to set the phone to always ask what type of connection you want to use.

Re: 5800XM with Wifi only

suppose u set an acces point which is wifi..

u can set that wifi to be used in 3 categories..

internet

wap

and mms

set that wifi acces in all three..

and make the wifi and not ur packet data the prioruty one

so whnever it wants to acces net it wl always go to wifia as priority

also u can see in the main option of destination that u can choose one as default.. just choose internet as default.. or any as default if u have made wifi acces points for all 3

the above user said that its not wise to delete the packet data.. well he is quite correct, but this phone has a good feauture.. it can read the settings from the sim card an can generate those settings required to connect to the sims internet,,

in applications there will be something called as sett wizard.. just go thru it whnever u feel u want to use ur sims net. if u have deleted the sim settings..

i have deleted the sims internet settings.. (had a back experiance of loosing 50$ over night foolishly- but that was many years ago, and some other mobile)
