so i have a nokia 5800 and i am very happy with it...well except for the music player.
i was hoping that it would be fixed with the new firmware upgrade but sadly, it has not.
so when i'm jamming my tunes at random moments a song will start playing and then stop, now sometimes when it does this it will just skip to the next song on the list and when i try and play that song again it will come up with an error saying something about operation cant be performed(sometimes it says file is corrupt) or something and then the whole library will vanish, and when i'm not so lucky it will just stop playing and all my music is gone from the list but when i use file mngr, all my music is still fine and i can play the music fine from there, only one track at a time.
now i know what you're thinking, refresh library right...yeah that does do the trick sometimes. often right after i do it, half my songs don't show up or when it works the way it should it takes ages to load all my music(of about 1123 songs on the 8GB that comes with it) and by the time its finished i am at home or at work and have gone on without music(well i have a e63 and the music player is just not what the 5800 is...not even close so i don't like using it for music).
so...is there a way to fix this little problem.
thanks in advance for your time and help.

noramn89, I think the reason why the music player skips tracks is because the file has been moved to some other location. If you receive an mp3 via bluetooth, it'll get saved in E:\Attachments\ and it is this location that gets updated in the music library. Then, when you move it to another location, say, where your other mp3s are stored, the library is not updated automatically. So, when you try to play that track from the player, it won't play.
The same thing happens if you rename a file also. The only way around is to refresh the music library.
If you see that the entire song listing vanishes from the library, simply exit the music player and start again. Most often this would solve the issue. Otherwise, the only option is to refresh the music library.
Make playlists - i know it's tedious to make one from a thousand songs, but this way you can be sure that what's there in the list will play properly.
The song listing vanishing is seen across most of the S60 phones.
Hope this helps
