Hi, my friend has a Nokia 5800 on Orange.
She's only had it two weeks & it intermittently crashes mid call then reboots.
Has anyone come across this problem before or just a fault with her handset?
Is it common on the Orange branded 5800 or ALL 5800s?
I told her to take it back & get it replaced.
Thanks

Not had a single call releated crash on my 5800xm under v11 or v20 firmware.
It's most likely a sim card issue. Try disabling 3G to see if thats the cause. If that doesn't help request a new sim, unless the one she has is very new.

Thanks for your reply.
You haven't stated, are you on Orange?
I know in the past that Orange branded software has caused quite bad issues with phones my friends have had, while I've had no problem with the same phones with vodafone software on them.
Editted to add : she's only had the sim (contract) a year & this is her upgrade phone. She also complains it's very slow at opening pictures etc & genaral use

Mine is an unbranded sim free version being used with an O2 sim card.
It's odd that she should say it's slow. Compared to many other smartphones it's very fast.
My friends 5800 was very slow and we found the cause to be a corrupt memory card. Once the card was removed the phone was fast again.

Cheers for your answers,
I'll ask her to take out her memory card & see if it's any better, I had problem with a corupt memory card but that froze the phone completely (N82).
Her boyfriend said simply "it's **bleep**, it's slow & takes ages to do anything then crashes don't bother getting a 5800!"
Everything I've read has said they're good phones, that's why I posted the question.
What I need is imput from anyone with an Orange branded 5800 for comparison to see if it's anything to do with their software.
Anyone?
