Hiya friends,

I am wondering if it is possible to charge my 5800 via USB connected to a laptop / PC?

Would it require some additional software, and is it possible at all?

The USB cable that comes with the phone can only be used as a data cable. To charge the phone you have to use the charging port on the phone.

 

Additional software won't do it because it lacks the necessary hardware.

 

However you can get a cable like the CA-126 which would allow you to charge the phone using the USB output from a pc or laptop.
