I format my nokia 5800xm both phone memory and memory card. After that when i open my phone i noticed that when i use the camera it hangs or freeze but when i check the used programs (long press the menu) it has camera but not working. i need to restart my phone several times just to make the camera working.. what supposed to be the problem?

have you tried to backup your phone, do a soft reset using *#7370# ??

yes i did a soft reset.. but still camera function hangs several times..

This happens to me sometimes.
And this works for me:
Press the power button, go down to remove memory card. It'll say it closes apps. When it tells you to 'remove the memory card and press ok' just keep the memory card in and press Ok. Then it should be okay.

I have noticed this also happens when you have " show GPS info" ON in camera settings. Totally elliviates the ability to take a quick snapshot or video. Camera seems fine when GPS set to OFF.
Check this out, could be your prob.

i cant still open the camera.. even restart my phone.. after i press my camera shortcut nothing happens and when i check the on applications the camera is on but not working.. i just have a monocrome screen. sometimes when i do a restart it hangs i just have the 3 buttons and shortcut botton lights up but the phone itself dont open..
what can be the source of the problem? is it a nokia factory defect?

How old is the phone? Has it been working before?

I also had this issue before. I followed all the help instructions in this forum but no one solves the problem. So I decided to bring my phone at Nokia Care Center. They kept my phone for atleast 3 weeks and they said the problem was on the board. I don't know what they are talking about but my phone was OK again.
So I suggest you bring your device at nearest Nokia Service Centre so they can check if the problem is like in my device. Servicing is FREE if your device is still at warranty. ![]()
