5800 XM - Opera Mini vs Mobile

I used both Opera Mobile 10 beta and Opera Mini 5 beta in 5800 XM.

Opera Mobile crashed very frequently requiring restart of the phone!

Opera Mini is much better. I also see apparently no difference between Mini & Mobile version!

So, I am now settled with Opera Mini.

Re: 5800 XM - Opera Mini vs Mobile

I had the same crashing issue with the beta of Opera Mobile. i was getting a message saying my phone memory was full even though i had over 70MB of RAM free.

I read elsewhere on this forum to load Opera Mobile, go to the address bar and enter

opera:config

You can then go in and change the default memory from 4096 to 2048. Since I did this, it's worked great and I've now uninstalled Opera mini.

If my post has helped you in anyway, please press the 'kudos' button.

I had problems even after doing that change!

So, I'm continuing with Opera Mini 5 beta.

Me too...I had that same problem after changing to 2048, and even down to 1024, still same problem.  But hey, it is an early beta, what more could I ask for.

Re: 5800 XM - Opera Mini vs Mobile

I find Mini is more stable, and "leaner" (I can leave it running in the background without the phone running out of memory) but Mobile has some extra features. I keep both installed.
Help I'm trapped in a sig factory.
