Hi all, Recently I have my phone updated to the v40 (Really thanks for nokia people because I feel like to have a new device, Hope to keep going in the same way), My problem that after updating from Nokia Ovi Suite it works great but I wont to erase all data in phone (Format It), So I took a backup using Nokia PC Suite then format it by holding RED\GREEN\Camera buttons until the Nokia Shaking hands logo appears, After that I tried to restore my Data (Contacts,Notes,Messages,Calendar Enters) All of them was restored except messages I don't find them at Inbox but in drafts!

How to restore it to inbox folder ? And why this problem cased?

Were your messages formerly stored in mass memory? If it is it may have been caused by the reformat since it will default message storage to phone memory. You should have switched it first before restore.

I would also reccommend that you use Ovi Suite and sync contacts and messages on a regular basis, then at least you will have messages on computer

Hello, I've just updated my 5800XM firmware. After the upgrade I tried restoring my backed up data but I get the message "no backed up content available." I checked the memory card on my pc and the backup folder is there along with the *.arc files. I have the latest version of PC Suite installed and I tried to restore via it but it uses *.nbu files not *.arc. I need a solution. Please help.

just open menu = applications = file mgr = memory card ... then press options and you'll find an option restore - but i really don't remember where exactly in the menu -

Thanks for replying, I have 2 backups in this week, the last one (before formatting) restores messages in drafts, BUT the other backup (For 5 days ago) restore my messages to inbox an My Folder just like what I put it before.

I think that maybe there a problem in the backing up algorithm (coding).

Whatever, why I can't copy my messages from phone memory to memory card easily? Just select option>Copy to>To Memory card or something like that.

And why I can't show both my phone memory contacts and SIM contacts in same timeI think I can't open SIM contacts to!) Also about SIM messages?

(Maybe this is a old way to store your contacts and messages in SIM card but maybe I need to do that for any reason!)

The backup folder with the *.arc files are on my memory card but I can't restore them. Restoring from the phone doesn't work. Restoring from PC Suite doesn't work. I never had a problem restoring before the firmware upgrade. Any solutions?

the *.arc files must be in folder e(memory card):\backup\

Also I have a N95 I want to resotre its backup , every thing ok exept resoteing messages!

It always failed I tried to resote them using content copier but it failed , Ovi store show this message "Another operation ongoging" but there no operation on going !
