Whenever i create a new msg and select one particular contact and when i search for another contact which "exists" in my list.. It doesn't appear at all !!!!.. Is this prob might be cos of sim-card? I had this prob quite recently and not on the day of purchase. Its not even a month since i bought it.

This problem was not there until i copied things from PC to 5800 Xm. This problem was also experienced in my previous N96. It still remains in both my phones. This prob was not resolved despite of all possible "Reset" and flashing of mem in my N96. Have not tried on this one but..

Is there any possibility that a "PC" virus can attack my phone and stay fixed despite all reset and etc?? Suggest an Idea. The Nokia service center said its a software defect in my N96 and they could not "Mend" it. The admin were exclaimed and told this might be cos of the SIM!!.

Diagnose it guys, i need an answer!

Where are the contacts stored ? On SIM or in Phone Memory....In Contacts-->Options-->Settings-->Contacts to display and Default Saving Memory, you can select Phone Memory..  Store all in Phone Memory and try. As far as the virus goes there are no known viruses for Symbian..

I thought it might coz of the contacts in SIm and thereby i deleted the ones in my SIM and also the default mem is Phone memory! still it doesnt work. Im in the process of formattin my mem card and then re install everythin in my phone..let's see if it works.If its positive.. it means that virus is from my PC and not from anythin els probably

Guys this is an ECCENTRiC problem as far as any Nokia phone's concerned.. pls find an answer for it!!! This is just awesome!!

What reset you have tried? Factory / Soft / Hard? Have you kept a backup of the complete data ? else,

Take abackup of your phone. First try the Factory reset and check if it still persists..If still there, then try Soft Reset .. Manually enter 3 to 4 contacts and try sending an SMS..

its not abt sending the SMS.. but reg selecting the contacts. tried whatever you told and whatever possible.. the service center ppl hve no idea of what this prob is.. It cant be concluded as we dont knw which virus That affects PC might affect this mob.... im still diagnosing it.

by 'Try sending an SMS' I ment go thru' the process of sending a text to more  than 1 person after following my suggessions to check if the same thing (2nd contact not seen) happens...
