The new version(200.*) it's slow and full of problems. I updated form 101.* to 200.* and i'm disapointed. Now i can't trust my phone, it's closed without warning, slow motions, sometimes it's freeze completly. Reinstall, card remove, hard reset.... same problems. So now i want firmware downgrade, and i expect Nokia pay for all.

You say that, laws says different. Excluding downgrade, i have other options? That firmware upgrade it's my fault? I reinstall that new firmware 3 times, i hard reset the phone 4 times, i put a smaller (2gb) Nokia microsd empty & formatted card. For me the last  and the only solution is downgrade, if anybody have antother ideea, please... tell me here. I will wait the call or mail from Nokia consultant before i try  the radical solution named downgrade.

WAS hard 2-3 years ago, now we are in 2010 and with some boxes YOU CAN downgrade, search or internet. But only GSM services own a box, it's expensive for a home user to buy a box only for playing with own phone firmware.

Definition of firmware: A special dedicated program stored on a device ROM or Flash memory, who command and control functions of that device. That limit (downgrade) not exist.

well i cant understand the point of downgrading.

do you downgrade your windows installation (for example, 7->XP) every time it freezes or a program closes unexpectedly?

The reason for downgrading is simple: Version 200.*  is new, with new bugs. And was not fully tested. On my phone is very slow. Version 101.* is normal. For me it's a comparition like: Speedy Gonzales vs a turtle on land. It's not a program problem, phone freeze on menu. Trust me,downgrade will happen with a GSM box or just only with data cable(with a third part software), with or without Nokia help. I have 2 variants: a dead phone or a downgraded phone.

This is always a rule for phone FW.  You cannot downgrade it. 

Some mobile shop may be able to do, but how to find a right one for you phone is a very hard issue, isn't it?

With a Symbian software called Screeshot. I have version 3. Very usefull. And is freeware.

Go to a mobile shop. You must accept, it's a risk. In my case was succesfuly, but sometimes a phone can die. Because you ask here i supose you don't have the tools to downgrade yourself.
