Hi,
how can I backup my phone data (contacts, calendar etc.) with Linux?
How can I sync the data with any Linux applications, such as Evolution?
Many thanks in advance!
PS: No, OVI does not run on Linux with Wine. I would prefer a free software/open source solution anyway.

To my knowledge none of those solutions do work with newer Nokia phones such as the 5630. E.g. for some functions one needs a Symbian application (gnapplet) which does not work on newer Symbian phones.

The Google search more or less comes to the conclusion that I have to change the phone (to e.g. an Android based one) to get decent Linux support. Nokia seems to be very hostile towards Linux users. I'm a little bit disappointed, as my older Nokia devices (6230i, N770, N800) worked well with Linux.

I developed a partial replacement for PC Suite/Ovi Suite on Linux. It synchronises contacts and calendar to a Nokia 5130c-2 XpressMusic. The contacts are in Thunderbird and the calendar is Xfce desktop's Orage. Details in this Nokia Support Discussions post: /t5/Nokia-Ovi-Suite/Can-t-anyone-help-me-Calender-
