hi all,
has anyone heard if nokia are going to be adding auto correct/prediction to S60 V5 touch screens?
I ask, as i love my 5530 but mis hitting keys whilst in qwerty mode is a real pain. i previously had an e71 which i could type really quickly on, knowing that the phone would correct 99% of my mistake.

Count me in as well.....
You are absolutely correct, with virtual keyboard word correction and prediction is a must!
I hope Nokia is listening and will provide us with such an update soon.....
On the other hand if anyone knows anything or have any suggestions please let us know!
Regards.

Hello Nokia,
I agree with all the others longing for a auto-correction feature as a free update for our not-so-cheap Nokia smartphones.
Personally I use a 5800 and I am quite satisfied with it.
One of the things I am missing though is said auto correction, which is very important for me.
If this is not coming for Nokias, I will most likely get a smartphone not build by Nokia.
best regards
Alex
edit: I think it would be good if other users who would like this feature too could post (or discuss) in this thread to keep it on top in order to (hopefully) get some attention by Nokia officials.

Err, not sure about autocorrection thingy, as I've never tried it, people here in my country has a different text language than when we write, and grammar and spelling go out the window when we text, but for predictive texting, its been in the 5530 and 5800 ever since they were launched. It is only available for alphanumeric keypad though.

I partly agree, but what we want is qwerty auto correction.
As said before, even cheaper smartphones offer this for free.
So Nokia, please give a official statement.

So while you are waiting for Nokia to do your request, maybe I could interest you in an alternative?
http://www.mobicreed.com/2009/11/01/dayhand-input-
DayHand is a replacement keyboard for the s60v5 phones. It does not have autocorrect, but it does have predictive text via T9 dictionary in qwerty mode. The app is unsigned by the way, so you would need to sign it with your own certificate.
You could also try out Adaptxt

Just updated my phone to v 30.0.009 like a week or two ago, but haven't got this feature.
I think Nokia should incorporate predictive or word completion in the qwerty mode because that will definitely will improve the overall experience of the device.
I still hope that Nokia listens to its customers and fans!
