5230 Memory still too full to allow Update even after deleting everything

Not sure what to do next.

The next sw update won't install because it needs 1 GB of free space and I only got it to 950 MB free.

I have every message removed and deleted.  No files in file manager, web cache clear, went through PC Suite filemanager and deleted everything, removed all my apps, removed all images.

Re: 5230 Memory still too full to allow Update even after deleting everything

I just did a factory reset.  And my memory is still full.  It went from 951 MB free to 952 MB free

How do I get to 1 GB free that the sw update says I need?

Re: 5230 Memory still too full to allow Update even after deleting everything

The update rev number BTW is 20.2.098 and my phone says by PC is the only way possible.

By PC I use the SW Updater program which always ends in a failure.

I also tried via OVI store and that is where I get the memory full problem

Re: 5230 Memory still too full to allow Update even after deleting everything

I don't know what is wrong but you certainly would not need 1GB of phone memory as impossible, have a look at specifications here: http://www.forum.nokia.com/Devices/Device_specifications/5230/

When you say carried out return to "factory settings" do you mean via device menu or by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by yourself)? Be aware that this reset method will delete all data from your 5230, and have you removed memory card if present?

If I've helped in any way, a click upon the white star at bottom right of screen would always be appreciated.

However if my answer also solves your problem clickingbelow it will benefit other users!
