I think Meego is better than Windows Phone from certain point of view,  at least the Name of Meego is nice than the Name of Windows Phone!

LOL, I don't think that will be the main issue as you will have the Nokia name somewhere in there.

I have the N9 and will get the lumia 800 when it comes.

They are both different apart from looks, I will sure enjoy it.

If you had a look at Nokia world - blogs, news etc, you will see that it looks like Nokia is getting back up there!

I hope Nokia will be success very soon, as Nokia has been a Trustable Brand for many years!

But I still want to say that it's hard to see the future of Windows Phone from the first two released phones, because the appearance of both phones don't look better than iPhone4 / iPhone4S !

At this moment, all people want to see is a Good Looking and High Performance Nokia phone, no matter what Operating System that phone is use!

and what I think is that ...Meego was not stephan elop's project ...so it was supposed to be Nokia's iphone killer and actually it is...so N9 is designed for general public and thatswhat its pretty simple and very innovative swipe ui is all about!

I really hope Nokia continue to support Meego as alternative to Windows Phone cause both have their own target markets...
How about the dying Symbian?

@Avenger_Osiris: As I have got the N9, I can already comment on that. I love the device. The buildquality is excellent, the screen is a pearl with vivid colours. The OS and UI is a new experience to me, but has so far been nothing but great. You adapt easily to how to navigate and the whole thing is so smooth.

There are of course lots of improvement needed, but I had no issues using it as my main device straight out of box. There are at least 2 updates coming as I know, and you also have the support from the community. It's a geeks device, but still easy enough for everyone to use.

Symbian is dying yes, but not as fast as we first thought. Even though the mess with Anna was a crazy mans circus, I still haven't heard anything saying that Nokia will stop the process with belle. Hopefully they will manage to get it out a bit quicker than with Anna.

I will comment on the lumia when I get it. That will also be a new experience to me - though I had a windows phone many years ago - motorola clam shell

Sales of Symbian phones seems to be dying faster than Nokia thought when they announced in February they still plan to sell 150M Symbian phones within the next two years. With sales declining at this rate, it'll be a miracle if they sell half of that.

What I ment was how we looked at it while the microsoft-Nokia cooperation was announced and we all first thought that with our current symbian devices we were abandoned from further support.

In that case it wasn't daying as fast with current support and belle coming. Although I do agree with what you say! I was manily thinking about C7. N8 and E7.

Wonder what it will be like with the new ones running Belle out of stock...

Megoo is so much better than windows .There are to many bad things stacked up againist the lumia to make me want one .My current C7 has NFC some thing microsoft does not support even though some phone suppiers are hinting it will be bigger than blue tooth.Could not agree with you more about the N9 being a iphone killer .Just can not understand why nokia will not release the best ever phone they have ever made here in the UK.

forgot to mention my c7 also has forward facing camera as well lumia no n9 yes.another point is there are reports that n8 running belle are also much better than lumia.though i guess it will be a while before nokia release the belle update here.as they will be hoping to secure some wp7 sales firstmost people know that the n9 would easily out sell lumia if it was release here.

Indeed there's so little apps but that's just because MeeGo as a serious proposal with the N9 was already orphaned before born.

Let's see how is the future for it's half brother Tisen OS.

It is Tizen, not Tisen, by the way. Samsung will use it. And Intel. Don't know about others. Time will tell.

Meego is junk ! I think you are a disgruntled Meego , Android or iPhone employee !!! Have you ever used the Windows Phone ? I had used Meego and had said good bye for ever.

Although I know the common problems in Lumia like battery life, sync dificulties, lack of basic things and ugly desktop... even Symbian does it better... =D
